Bandung - nature escape from the city buzz

 October 25, 2024:Taking the Woosh Train to Bandung After breakfast, we took a taxi to the station for our ride on the high-speed Woosh train to Bandung. We had lunch at Starbucks at the station and then realized we’d accidentally booked tickets for yesterday’s train! Instead of the 1 PM train, we finally got on the 2 PM, but at last, we could whoosh our way out of Jakarta! The Woosh train was honestly “whooshazing” – super fast and comfortable! It was first time traveling with a high speed train. With 350km/h we were in Bandung in 40 minutes. The Grab from the train station to the hotel took longer. Arriving in Bandung, another super busy city, we quickly checked out our hotel’s infinity pool and gym. Then we braved an urban jungle of chaotic crossings to reach our dinner spot, ‘The Hummingbird,’ for a well-deserved meal. We opted for some Western food for diner. Jakarta - the sinking city

Monas -  Jakarta’s iconic symbol of independence October 22, 2024: Arrival in Jakarta After a long flight from the Netherlands, Mark and I safely arrived in Jakarta early in the evening. The flight went smoothly without any issues. We quickly grabbed a taxi to our hotel, Mercure Jakarta’s Batavia. After unpacking, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat at the hotel. A quiet first evening wrapped up with a nice meal. Then, off to bed to start our adventure in Indonesia refreshed the next day! October 23, 2024: Exploring Jakarta We started our day by visiting the Jakarta History Museum, located in the former VOC governor’s office.
